Il-Corallo Trattoria

Thursday, September 14th, 2006

Il-Corallo TrattoriaI haven’t been able to blog much lately because I’ve been meeting up a lot with my girlfriend lately. She’s going away to Hong Kong again for Cantonese Opera. She might be gone for a whole year, but I hope not. In case she is, I’m trying to hang out with her as much as possible so I’ll be a bit slow on the blogging.

Anyhow, we had dinner yesterday at this pasta place called Il-Corallo Trattoria that she’s been dying to take me to. For those of you who don’t know me, I don’t normally like pasta too much. However, I have to admit, the food was great, and the price was just right. You can get an entree for under 10 bucks.

If you look at the menu, they have a 2 whole pages of pasta dishes all reasonably priced. I got the Fettuccine Carettiera, which i enjoyed and didn’t enjoy. Huh? I’m I confusing you? Well the fettuccine was great. It was fresh and cooked just right. However, the sauce was kinda plain. It was good, but not as good as my girlfriend’s dish. She had the Black Ravioli Seafood. That was delicous. The cream of tomato sauce was delicious. The ravioli was good, but not as great as the fettuccine. If I had the fettuccine with her cream sauce, I would have loved it.

You can also download the pdf version of the menu from MenuPages by clicking here.

US Open

Thursday, September 7th, 2006

20060906_200131_ekI went to the US open today with Pat, Steve and Hong. We had an awesome time watching the game there. The matches we saw was the Maria Sharapova vs Tatiana Golovin and Andy Roddick vs Lleyton Hewitt games. Sharapova and Roddick won the matches.

While we were there, Steve brought along these binoculars that must have been like 400x zoom or something like that. We had nosebleed seats so we were sitting way up and way back. Everything looked like dots. However, when you looked through the binoculars, you can see everything as if you were right next to them. I tried taking some pics using my sisters camera and the binoculars and I’ve posted them up.

We also enjoyed some food and beer. The person that served the beer for us at the concession stand was awesome. We were waiting forever to get some burgers, and since everyone wanted them, we had to wait a long time on line drinking our beer. The beer lady was very cool and topped off our drinks for us while we were waiting.

I’ve posted up the pics that I have from the game onto the albums section. You can view them by clicking on the image on the left.

Labor Day Weekend

Monday, September 4th, 2006

I just got back from my Labor Day weekend trip with my girlfriend.  We went to Morristown, NJ for the weekend.  I know you’re thinking, Morristown?  What the heck is there?  The answer?  NOTHING.  Not a thing.  Did we know that this town had nothing there? Yes.

Before you get too confused, we just wanted to go away, get away form eveyrthing and relax. We didn’t want to do a lot of sightseeing, we wanted to go someplace semi-close by, and we’re on a budget.  With that said and done, a small town seemed like the best choice.  Someplace where we can exscape the busy city life and juSt relax.  Morristown is jsut an hour away by New Jersey transit so we went there to relax and chill.

This is the first vacation where I went to relax and do nothing. It was a great feeling just to relax. We didnt’ have to worry about going here to do this or that or whatever.  We didn’t plan anything, and we just did whatever we felt like doing there. It was very relaxing.  Anyhow, now we’re back and we have to adjust ourselves to a “normal” city life.

Oh well.  I guess that’s why they call it a vacation. Without the normal day to day life, a vacation wouldn’t be a vacation. Atleast I dont’ need a vacation from my vacation liek I normally do with most vacations.
